How To Treat UTI

By Chantell Forro

Urinary tract infection better called UTI is a common urinary problem experienced by everyone. A couple of its signs include bloody or cloudy urine, pelvic discomfort, a fever and a sore burning sensation when peeing. Since the problem creates such an unpleasant sensation, patients who have it are eager to cure their pain as fast as they can. This advice discusses the numerous kinds of UTI treatments that a person may make use of in order to treat the symptoms of this issue.

Antibiotics, such as amoxicillin, trimethoprim, norfloxacin, cephalosporins, and Nitrofurantoin, are the most common UTI treatment prescribed by doctors to remedy the condition. There are also single-dose antibiotics, but these are not as effective as the drugs that need to be taken for about a week. If the patient does not wish for the bacterial infection to make an aggressive return, they should continue to take the antibiotics for the entire prescribed course, even if the symptoms begin to subside within a few days. Patients may need medication for a long time if there is a serious infection.

UTI symptoms can be lessened by using prescription or OTC painkillers. However, do note that these drugs do not treat UTI itself, and only relieve the pain for a short period of time.

You can treat Urinary Tract Infection ( UTI ) either naturally or in combination with medicine. The popular remedy of cranberries is effective because of the antibacterial properties of the tannins present in them. By drinking cranberry juice or taking cranberry supplements, you will be able to protect your body from the harmful bacteria that cause UTI. Fruits such as pineapples, apples and blueberries can treat UTI as well.

UTI treatment will put your health in peril if you don't continue with it. Giving up smoking is one thing that you will have to do as a part of this treatment. The infection can be worsening due to smoking even to stage of bladder cancer.

While being treated, do not have sexual intercourse. Sexual contact can exacerbate the symptoms of UTI, and you can even put your partner at risk of contracting UTI as well. Sugary foods should be avoided. Sugar impacts bacteria growth so the more you eat the more bacteria.

Washing your hands after using the bathroom will help you maintain good hygiene habits. To check bacterial proliferation, wipe from front to back in case of females. To lessen the chances of your genital area becoming irritated is to use cotton underwear as it is breathable. Also, be sure to change underwear at least once a day. Avoid using scented products that contain harsh chemicals on your genitalia, it can cause a UTI.

Before commencing UTI treatment, get your doctor's nod. Given the condition, a doctor can find out the proper treatment you need. Side effects can occur if taking other drugs while taking one for a UTI.
